Arya putri Pathshala is one of the oldest primary schools of tiny city Fazilka. It is meant only for girls’ education of the city. Institute is reportedly vowed to promote the tenets of Arya Samaj. Its small building is adjoined with Arya Samaj Mandir on Arya Samaj Road. In 1904, it was established by a gentleman Gori Shanker Ji. The bigwig Principal of prestigious DAV College, Lahore- Mahatma Hans Raj had inaugurated the school. It was the time when the education for girls was a taboo & disdained by Indian society. Mr. Gori Shanker Ji, who himself was an avid teacher, because of his dedication and love for girls’ education had struggled too much to start this school. Although, now there are several schools in the city especially for girls education yet its importance as the first girls’ school in the city makes the institute significant.
