Choudhary Harphool Singh Jaat
The First Colour Movie in Fazilka

Fazilka- which was known for its Asia’s biggest cotton industry before partition had nothing to do with tinsel world ever. It is far from Tinsel City, Mumbai. None can think even in dream that the gorgeous actresses with the heroes of glittering world would visit this tiny, outdated city and shoot the movie.

Even after the 62 years of independence, only one movie has been shot here in the year of 1973 which was based on the martyr of adjoining state Haryana “Harphool Singh Jaat”. Actor Anand Kumar had played a role of protagonist in the movie with female co-partner gorgeous Malti, niece of Tinsel world’s dream girl Hema Malini with the second lead actress Jai Shree Tee.

Producer/Director/Actor Ch. Atma Ram Kamboj with actress Malti

Aatma Ram Kamboj who was both the producer & director of the movie too had played a significant role in the movie. The role of the British Officer was played by Kamal Kapoor. In 1973, it was shot in Sajrana & Salem Shah villages apart from some shooting in Mumbai & Kurkshetra. The movie was released in the year of 1974.
