Flourosis
Flourosis is a condition which is prevalent in the firozpur district along with some other areas in the country here the teeth are not formed properly whereby the outer surface of the tooth is not formed properly and due to this the inner yellow surface of the tooth becomes visible thus making the tooth look yellow to brown and even with pits on the teeth depending upon the severity of the disease .
The cause of the condition : the cause is the high fluoride content in the drinking water at the time of teeth development that is uptill 14yrs of age according to W.H.O the water of the firozpur district is unfit for drinking
Other conditions associated :fluoride level also get deposited in the bones thus it results in the weakening of bones and pain I n them at an early stage
Management: use of R.O Filters Or using the packaged drinking water is the only way of avoiding this . some deflouridation techniques are available which should be followed by the water supply department.
Treatment of teeth affected:treatment includes the esthetic treatment where the discoloration is minimum it includes laminates and esthetic fillings and capping in case of the teeth severely affected
